Okay, first and foremost, I would like to express my ABSOLUTE LOVE OF BUTTER! And I LOVE the fact that there is a forum on it! w00t! w00t! Butter!

So. If there be one thing I love, it's butter. If there be two things I love, it's bread AND butter. Together. I always joke with my friends about how if I were in jail, I would be the happiest person alive, because I'd just get to eat butter and bread all day long!!

So the BEST bread for butter is every bread, naturally. Because butter makes everything delicious and tasty. But of course, I'd have to say that a nice, thick slice of toasted Italian bread with warm butter smothered all over it...amazing. My mouth is watering just THINKING about it!!

Sometimes when I got to restaurants, I only go for the butter and bread that come before the meal. That's all I really want!!!

Hey there U.T.B, nice to see your post!

I too love warm bread topped with melting butter. Yum!!

Does anyone else out there never save room for dinner because they eat too much buttered bread???

I could make an entire meal on bread and butter! (And lots of varieties too.) I love (hot) yeast rolls with butter (love to have the butter melt in a matter of seconds.) I also love Peppridge Farm whole grain English muffins with butter. (for breakfast.) Also, we can't forget biscuits with butter! (The Bisquick type biscuits. Or heck, I also love Hungry Jack canned, flaky biscuits!) In a pinch for time, but want something buttery, but sweet? Try spreading some soft butter on bread, and sprinkling it with brown sugar! My mouth is watering!

Hi Sweetslover-

Do you have a good recipe for yeast rolls? Everyone always talks about them online, but I'm afraid I dont know how to make them. I know my husband would love something like that!

Unfortunately, I'm not successful at preparing anything with yeast. The times I've tried, I've flopped! I usually buy frozen Bridgeford dough, or Rhodes frozen yeast rolls. They are delicious! Just follow directions on the package for thawing, and bake. Your house will smell as if you've been baking bread all day! :)

Hi everyone, I see you are looking for a recipe for yeast rolls? I can't take credit, but I got this recipe from another site and its wonderful. Thanks to Cherie for the recipe:

2 tablespoons shortening
3 tablespoons white sugar
1 cup hot water
1 (.25 ounce) package active dry yeast
1 egg, beaten
1 teaspoon salt
2 1/4 cups all-purpose flour

1. Preheat oven to 425 degrees F (220 degrees C). Grease 8 muffin cups.
2. In a large bowl, mix the shortening, sugar, and hot water. Allow to cool until lukewarm, and mix in the yeast until dissolved. Mix in the egg, salt, and flour. Allow the dough to rise until doubled in size.
3. Divide the dough into the prepared muffin cups, and allow to rise again until doubled in size.
4. Bake for 10 minutes in the preheated oven, or until a knife inserted in the center of a muffin comes out clean.

Enjoy!!

ive done both. though my homemade garlic bread is the quick and easy kind..not very 'authentic'.

and, authenticity is an absolute MUST in regards to anything even remotely NEAR the butter.

I really like the texas toast garlic bread frozen stuff. The bread slices are so thick, and when you bake them in your oven, your whole house smells SOOOO buttery and delish.

those ARE yummy. the market had them on sale $1 per box, so i stocked up. no the healthiest choice, but yeah well.

as a kid, my parents only bought white bread....the real junky kind (i secretly think its made of paste). anyway, as a teenager i was too lazy to make breakfast, and i ran track sometimes before and after school so was always beat upon waking up........my usual breakfast was white toast with butter.......and a glass of coca cola. sometimes when i beat myself up over me not feeding my kids healthy enough, i recall these days and feel like as a mom today, i should wear a crown. LOL! man, did i get a serious jolt out of that BF. serious carbs, fat, and sugar. my word.

anyway, one bread from the market i really love is arnolds country white. its expensive, so i dont buy it often........but when i do......sometimes i have to make that buttered toast. on that bread, it is just heavenly. pepperidge farm bread is another fav. i make grilled sandwiches..using real butter of course....on their sourdough bread.

One of my favorites, grilled cheese on the griddle, slathered in butter of course! Comes out all golden brown and dripping with butter and cheese. Wow, it is too early to be having these cravings!

wow, if i hadnt JUST got done woofing down some OE eggs fried in butter...with cheese melted on top...and then nicely placed inside a BUTTERED english muffin, my tummy would be totally rumbling....for the grilled cheese you speaketh of!

since joining this forum, it has become rather enlightening to realize i eat more butter than i once thought. to think ive been trying to fight my slight belly roll with pilates..........when in truth and reality, it might be all the fault of BUTTER!

Heeeeeeeeeeelllpppp......dont take away my butter......

Hi HBP!

I apologize, but I am not very skilled in the kitchen, but I would like to try making homemade garlic bread for my husband during our next Italian night.. Can you maybe post your quick and easy method for me to try out?! Do you think I will be able to handle it?

Thanks!!

I'm allergic to wheat, so I make my own bread. It's really good with Earth Balance brand margarine. It tastes just like butter.
